Bath Stone
This is a simplified detail from a gateway of Stupa, the original of which is in a museum in Calcutta. This piece was made simply because I loved the carving. I would like to re-carve the same subject but in a tighter (more dense) stone. The stone I used was a little too soft and open textured, which meant that fine details from the original stone carving would not show so well. None the less, all stone is beautiful and has its own qualities.
